Bill Gibson

Chairman

Bill set up Zytek in 1981, initially designing electronics for racecars. The
origins of the company are simple – Bill’s frustration with big company
syndrome and short term gains.

By 1984 Zytek were supplying the fi rst F1 engine management system for
Ayrton Senna’s Toleman-Hart.

Bill’s next move was to create Zytek’s own engine for F3000. The KV was
developed, and when, in the mid 1990s, F3000 was declared a one make
formula, Zytek tendered for the deal and succeeded.

Bill then set up Zytek Systems, Roadcar contract engineering projects for
the world’s major manufacturers dovetailed neatly with the fast learning
process of the motorsport industry. His drive for innovation saw Bill form
an electric vehicles division in the early 1990s.

The purchase of the race chassis division of Reynard in 2002 allowed Zytek
to supply the complete package of chassis, electronics and engines to any
motorsport formulae with many victories for Zytek’s own 04S, 07S, 09S
and 09SB sportscars.
